CheckIn for iOS
These terms govern your use of CheckIn, an iOS application for recording and reviewing the places you visit. By downloading, signing in to, or using the app, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please stop using the app and delete it.
Your use of the app is also subject to our Privacy Policy and to Apple's App Store Terms of Service.
CheckIn requires an account, created through Sign in with Apple. You must be at least 13 years old to use the app. You are responsible for keeping access to your Apple ID secure, and for the activity that takes place under your account.
We may suspend or terminate an account that abuses the service, attempts to access other users' data, or breaks these terms.
CheckIn is free to download and includes a free tier. Optional auto-renewing subscriptions unlock additional features.

Prices shown in the app are the authoritative ones. Your local price, currency and any applicable taxes are set by the App Store for your region and may differ from the figures above. Prices may change; any change will apply from your next renewal and Apple will notify you where required.
If you previously bought the one-time lifetime upgrade offered by an earlier version of CheckIn, that purchase remains valid and grants you the Gold tier permanently. You do not need a subscription to keep it.
The following is a summary. The plan comparison inside the app is definitive and is updated as features change.
Free tier limit. The 100 saved places limit is enforced. Once you reach it, checking in at a new place requires an upgrade. Checking in again at a place you have already saved always remains available, and none of your existing data is removed.
Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. Request one through Apple's "Report a Problem" page. We cannot issue refunds directly.
Where a free trial or introductory offer is provided, any unused portion is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
Everything you record in CheckIn - your check-ins, names, notes, reviews, ratings, tags, photos, voice memos, trips and lists - remains yours. You keep ownership.
You grant us only the limited permission needed to run the service: to store your content, transmit it, back it up, and display it back to you and to anyone you deliberately share it with. We do not use your content to train models, and we do not sell it.
You are responsible for what you record. You agree not to upload content that is unlawful, that infringes someone else's rights, or that records another person's location or likeness without their consent.
Shared lists let you share selected places with other CheckIn users by sending an invitation code. Anyone holding a valid code can join the list and see the places on it. Treat invitation codes as private, and only share a list with people you trust.

CheckIn depends on your device's location hardware, on Apple's geocoding and mapping services, on third-party weather data and on a network connection. Location fixes and addresses can be inaccurate, and weather information may be unavailable or wrong.
Automatic check-ins and geofence reminders depend on iOS delivering events to the app and are not guaranteed to fire, to fire on time, or to fire at all. Do not rely on CheckIn for navigation, for emergencies, or for any purpose where an error could cause harm.
We aim to keep CheckIn available and working, but we provide no uptime guarantee. Features may be added, changed or removed, and the service depends on third parties such as Apple and Google whose availability we do not control. We will give notice in the app before removing a feature that is material to a paid plan.
Cloud backup is a paid feature. On the free tier your data is stored in your account but is not guaranteed to be recoverable. Export your data regularly using the CSV export if it matters to you.
If you enable end-to-end encryption, note and review text is encrypted with a key that exists only on your device. If that device is lost, erased or replaced, that text cannot be recovered by anyone, including us.
You may stop using CheckIn at any time and delete your account from the Profile screen in the app. Deleting your account removes your check-in records and your sign-in credentials. Some uploaded media and profile information may persist after deletion; email us and we will erase the remainder on request.
Deleting your account does not cancel an active subscription. Cancel it separately in your Apple ID settings.
CheckIn is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profits or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Apple is not a party to these terms and has no responsibility for the app. Apple has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for CheckIn. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price; beyond that, Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
We may update these terms as the app develops. The date at the top reflects the current version. Continuing to use CheckIn after an update means you accept the revised terms. Material changes will be announced in the app.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, without regard to conflict of law rules. Nothing here removes consumer protection rights you have under the law of your own country of residence.
